Eddie The Eagle Trailer Comes In For A Crash Landing
With little experience or expertise, Michael “Eddie” Edwards – a plasterer from Cheltenham, England – was determined to represent his country as a ski jumper despite his signature thick glasses and goofy demeanor.

Inspired by a true story, the trailer for Eddie The Eagle stars Taron Egerton as Michael “Eddie” Edwards, the real-life underdog who won the hearts and minds of British citizens (but not any medals) on his road to the Olympics in the ’80s.
The actor appeared on Broadway in HUGH JACKMAN – BACK ON BROADWAY in the fall of 2011.
20th Century Fox premiered the first Eddie the Eagle trailer.
Starring Taron Egerton as the main protagonist, fans have been given a taste of what to expect in the first official trailer. “I’m gonna go the Winter Olympics”, Eddie says.
Reluctantly aided by former ski-jumper Bronson as his coach, Eddie is unwavering in his quest to reach the 1988 Calgary Winter Games.
The trailer opens with the clumsy Edwards, played by Kingsman star Taron Egerton, crashing into a row of fellow skiers, scattering them like skittles – a pretty apt summary of the way Edwards’ clumsy nature endeared him to the British public.
Empathising his sentiment, the coach tells him: ‘I do know what it’s wish to be written off, you’ll get your second and it’s going to harm like hell’.
Co-starring Jo Hartley, Tim McInnerny, Keith Allen, Rune Temte, Jim Broadbent and Christopher Walken, Eddie The Eagle is poised to land on February 26, 2016.

Sean Macaulay penned the script. Producers are Matthew Vaughn, Adam Bohling, David Reid, Rupert Maconick and Valerie Van Galder.
