Eddie Vedder Is Really Pumped About the Cubs Beating the Cardinals
A Chicago-area native, rocker Eddie Vedder has made it clear through the years that he enjoys baseball, enough to keep score, and that he loves the Cubs.

The Cubs will play the victor of the Dodgers-Mets series. “We’re touring and I have to leave before the World Series”.
Vedder, however, says he’ll be more vigilant in limiting his band’s fall schedule in following years with the Cubs seemingly on the brink of consistent playoff contention.
There was a video posted on Vimeo of Vedder having a little bit of a jam session in Jon Lester‘s backyard with Starlin Castro, Anthony Rizzo, Chris Denorfia, David Ross, Kyle Schwarber, and the rest of the team standing behind them. This year I didn’t think we had to worry about it. But I hope we go to the World Series and I hope I miss the games.
In it, he sings about the difficultly of being a fan of the ballclub: “We are one with the Cubs/With the Cubs we’re in love/Yeah, hold our head high as the underdogs/We are not fair-weather but foul-weather fans/We’re like brothers in arms in the streets and the stands”. Because the Series is scheduled to start on October 27th, Vedder would have to do a few frantic trans-continental flying in order to make the games, as Pearl Jam would ostensibly be prepping for a South American tour that begins November 4th in Santiago, Chile.

The St. Louis Cardinals – Chicago Cubs series kicks off Friday, October 9 at 6:45 p.m. ET on TBS. “It’d be a good problem to have”.
