Eddie Vedder says no more October tour dates for Pearl Jam

And this year the Cubs have a very real chance of actually going all the way; if they did, in fact, make it to the World Series and win the world championship, it will be the first time that they have done so since 1908.

Avid Chicago Cubs fan (and Pearl Jam frontman) Eddie Vedder is, needless to say, excited about the prospect of his team going to the World Series this year, but it’s also posing a bit of a moral crisis for the singer. “Back in 2007, the Evanston, Illinois native debuted “(Someday We’ll Go) All the Way”, a song written about his Cubs fandom, during a Pearl Jam concert in Chicago.

Vedder’s comments came ahead of the Cubs’ 8-6 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals on Monday, which gave them a 2-1 lead in their National League Division Series. “But I hope we go to the World Series and I hope I miss the games”. Last night though, an amped Vedder got on camera for an interview with CBS on Wrigley Field. While we dubbed him the team’s great playoff hope, he (along with millions others) has waited years, decades for his moment. “All I’m saying is that the next few years we’re not going to play in October”. “It’d be a good problem to have”. He added, “I’m not the only one who’s been around for a long time”. “I’m thinking about the people who are not around anymore who were not around to experience this…” Eddie Vedder is one of those fans, and he was on hand on the North Side to watch the NLDS clincher.
