Vedder recently celebrated the team’s success after victories over the Pittsburgh Pirates and now the St. Louis Cardinals, and it has him rethinking Pearl Jam’s tour plans.

And this year the Cubs have a very real chance of actually going all the way; if they did, in fact, make it to the World Series and win the world championship, it will be the first time that they have done so since 1908.

Vedder, who has been with the team throughout the postseason, said he’s bummed the group has South American tour dates on the schedule during the World Series. “But I hope we go to the World Series and I hope I miss the games”.

“This year I didn’t think we had to worry about it”, Vedder said.

A Chicago-area native, rocker Eddie Vedder has made it clear through the years that he enjoys baseball, enough to keep score, and that he loves the Cubs. “Back in 2007, the Evanston, Illinois native debuted “(Someday We’ll Go) All the Way”, a song written about his Cubs fandom, during a Pearl Jam concert in Chicago. “It would be a good problem to have”. After the Cubs’ 6-4 win against the Cardinals on Tuesday evening at Wrigley Field sent them soaring into the NLCS, Vedder took a moment for an interview with CBS 2’s Ryan Baker and shared his own description of the North Siders. He added, “I’m not the only one who’s been around for a long time”. The Pearl Jam frontman has been with the team the entire post season, hanging in the locker room, celebrating on the field, conducting post-game interviews.
