The trip to Leicester is their first game since a 2-1 loss at home to Liverpool on Friday condemned Conte to his first competitive defeat since his appointment as the club’s manager.

Conte sent a warning to his players that they will need to improve defensively if they are to succeed under his management.

“Those cups are important and we want to win a trophy this season”.

“Harry Kane will score goals and it’s more a collective issue than an individual one”.

Luiz felt Liverpool’s quick free-kick for Dejan Lovren’s first goal left his side disorganised at the back. We invested a lot more in the first half than Chelsea, so Chelsea came then in the second half.

Chelsea have never won in the Premier League era when two goals down at half-time, but gave their fans hope by pulling a goal back on 61 minutes.

The Chelsea defending was certainly questionable for the first goal and they were soon two goals down, as Gary Cahill’s poor clearance was picked up by Jordan Henderson, and from fully 25 yards the Liverpool skipper expertly curled the ball into the back of the net.

“When you give away two goals in this way, I think it’s very hard because against Liverpool you play with a great team, these are tough games and I think that you must pay attention in every moment, in every single minute of the game, every second, because the details make the difference”. I don’t want to repeat last season.

Liverpool’s performance on Friday was notable for its intensity, with midfielders Sadio Mane, Adam Lallana, Georginio Wijnaldum and Henderson helping to prevent Chelsea gaining a foothold in the game.

‘He is also thought to have questioned why Conte, with his men 2-1 down from the 36th minute, waited until the 84th minute to make any substitutions.

“I’m the coach, so I must work more on this aspect”. Chelsea are a great team but we sometimes don’t pay enough attention. We played like this last time here and we had only been together three weeks or something.
