Edgeless Display, No Home Button

It appears increasingly likely that Apple will not offer a major iPhone upgrade in 2016, with this year’s iPhone 7 is set to feature only minor improvements. Some tech insiders closely connected to the company have hinted at the upcoming changes, which could include an edge-to-edge front display on the device, writes the Us Weekly.

Gruber’s comments on the 2017 iPhone model suggest a new, revolutionary design. It seems that Apple wants to buy some time in order to make 2017 iPhone a revolution, instead “just” evolution.

Gruber’s mention of embedded sensors lines up with previous rumors that Apple may be embedding the home button and Touch ID fingerprint sensor into the display.

According to Gruber, “And there have been some rumors, I guess, but what I’m saying is that I’ve heard this independently and it is completely getting rid of the chin and forehead of the phone”. In fact, he describes the 2017 iPhone as a “jaw-dropping, wow” design that will be “astounding” and feature an edge-to-edge display. Additionally, the front camera, Touch ID, speaker, and other sensors will apparently be embedded into the display.

According to the rumors buzzing these days, the entire face of the iPhone will comprise of display.

Other features rumored to be included are long-range wireless charging, water-proofing, new biometric features such as iris or facial recognition.

The most awaited iPhone 7 rumors are all around.

If these rumors are true, then the iPhone 7, that is due to release this September may not be able to match the excitement for the 2017 variant. However, from what I’m reading and being told about the 2017 model of iPhone is something completely different!

We’ve also heard that the iPhone 7S Plus could have a glass back and a 5.8-inch screen, which, if it truly is bezel-less, could mean Apple will fit it into roughly the same size handset as the iPhone 6S Plus. This will probably be the case because it is known that Samsung will make displays for the next generation iPhone, starting 2017.
