In the final quarter, the Redblacks’ lead was down to 20-18 until Lynch’s one-yard punch proved to be the knockout blow.

It’s not the first time a Grey Cup team has had to do without a touchdown celebration.
The contest was a defensive battle for much of the game, especially in the second half as Edmonton outscored Ottawa just 9-4. “They found ways to make plays and to get us off the field …”
“I wanted to get it for my family, the guys in this locker-room, and for the city of Ottawa”.
Before the end of the first quarter though, Edmonton and former Lions quarterback Mike Reilly would claw out of the hole first with a field goal followed up with a 22-yard strike to Adarius Bowman to cut the deficit to 13-10.
The Eskimos were down 19-18 going into the fourth, which means their victory Sunday night improved their record to an impressive 7-3 this season when trailing going into the final frame.
The Redblacks, in just their sophomore season, are looking to become just the second team since the CFL played at least 12-game schedule to win the Grey Cup after winning two games or less the previous season.
“We had opportunities to turn the tide and we just didn’t make the plays, whether it was me missing a throw or making a play or something”, Burris said. The Saskatchewan Roughriders are believed to be interested in him for their vacant general manager and head coaching positions, and Jones didn’t exactly announce after the game that he’s staying put. But as impressive, was Burris’s ability to fully utilize his receiving corps as four Ottawa players – Chris Williams, Greg Ellingson, top Canadian Brad Sinopoli and Earnest Jackson – cracked the 1,000-yard plateau. Akeem Shavers added a two-point convert. After a series of momentum shifts, the Esks had a 17-16 lead at the break.
The popular Ottawa RedBlacks quarterback led the league in passing this season and won the Most Outstanding Player award.
Ottawa got the ball right back after recovering a fumble on the ensuing kickoff at the Edmonton 40-yard line.
In the 2nd quarter, Chris Milo made a field goal and Sean Whyte missed a 45-yard attempt, but got a single point.

Burris hit Lavoie on a three-yard TD pass at 11:38 as Ottawa opened the game with a seven-play, 73-yard scoring march.
