In a statement on their Live Status Checker webpage, O2 confirmed BT was investigating an issue with its network.
Users of both networks reported problems on social media, with O2 saying partner firm BT was investigating a problem on its fixed line network.
EE also confirmed that its subscribers were having the same problems with making calls to landline telephone numbers.
British mobile network operators EE and O2 announced that they’ve resolved network problems preventing users from making and receiving calls.
Meanwhile, O2 said that the main fault was with BT. “We apologise for the inconvenience while we worked with the affected operators to get everything back up and running”.
“On the evening of January 11th we experienced an issue where members were unable to make outgoing calls to landline numbers, 0800 numbers and some mobile numbers”, a spokesperson said.

O2 said it would monitor the service overnight to ensure stability for customers, and apologised for any inconvenience caused. “The issue has now been resolved”.
