EE to supercharge network with ‘Cat 9’ update to 450Mbps
Its 4G+ service already uses two blocks of spectrum to achieve high speeds in 150 towns and cities across the United Kingdom, the further roll out will add a third block for Cat 9 handsets to utilise.

EE have already managed to achieve download speeds of 360 Mbps on their new network using the HTC M10, these speeds will also be available on other handsets like the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge and Note 7.
EE has once again chosen the football mecca of Wembley to launch a new thing, this time using the allure of sporting association to announce the arrival of its Cat 9 LTE connectivity in the UK.
EE has tested its new service in the real world with a HTC 10 and claims to have achieved 360Mbps. “We’ve invested in our network to ensure that all of our customers get the most out of the unbelievable smartphones they have, and can keep up with the highest speeds that the latest devices offer”.

That’s not to say those with Cat 6 will be forgotten, with EE has enabled the first stage of its 4G+ (LTE-A) network, which uses two blocks of mobile spectrum, in more than 150 towns and cities across the UK.

EE is initially rolling out its Cat 9 speeds to those in London, Manchester and Birmingham this year, with much of the country coming online throughout 2017.
