Marley Spindler was last seen by friends on the morning of Thursday, August 20 leaving a Chick-Fil-A restaurant in Myrtle Beach on what was supposed to be her first day of school.

Officials said she might be in the company of an unknown adult male going by the name “Jeremy”.

She had changed out of her school clothes and into a T-shirt.

“A search of her cellular phone revealed evidence that she left alone and not under duress or coercion”, states Lt. Denis.

Her mobile phone was found on Thursday in the vehicle park of the Ocean Reef Resort. “She has to have the TV on”, the anxious mother said. She told her friends she was then going to head to class. She never showed up.

“We talked to just about everybody she knows in this area and there’s a possibility that she may have a boyfriend or ex-boyfriend in North Carolina somewhere, where she’s originally from”.

“We had information that Myrtle Beach cameras caught her on the boulevard, driving up the boulevard, and it was evident in that video that she was by herself”.

Horry County Police do not suspect foul play, but her family said it would be unlike the straight-A student to run away: she hates being alone and can’t fall asleep without her dog in her bed, missing-after-vanishing-from-restaurant/” target=”_blank”>her mom Karen Spindler told WBTV.

“The missing person flyer said McKenna is 16, 5’5” and 105 lbs. She walked into the bank, it’s not like she used an ATM machine, so she could have said “hey I’m in trouble” or “help me”.

Police said Marley was last seen driving a silver 2002 Ford Escape with a thick black pinstripe running down its sides and a missing “E” from the “Escape” decals that adorn each side. It has a South Carolina license plate KFI776. Employees placed signs and posters all around the store over the past couple of days. “They are also teenagers and didn’t want to tattle on their friend if she was cutting school”.

People can stop by Sam’s Club to pick up free flyers to distribute.

Horry County Police’s Criminal Investigations Division has mobilized several detectives to work this case.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Horry County Police Department or call the Tip Line at 843-915-8477 (843-915-TIPS).

“If somebody has her, she has an awesome family and she is an awesome, smart girl that just has so much to offer to the world yet”, Karen Spindler said.
