Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea all sealed their berth in the fourth round of the League Cup after registering victories in their respective matches.

Liverpool, on the other hand, registered a comfortable 3-0 victory over Derby County, while Arsenal sealed an easy 4-0 win against Nottingham Forest.

The Citizens have been outstanding so far this season – winning all five of their Premier League games to start the campaign and eight games in a row in all competitions.

Chelsea and Liverpool both rested key players but still fielded strong lineups in a bid to stay alive in one of three competitions they’ll enter this season.

Leicester has much bigger priorities this season. Aside from attempting to retain its Premier League title, Claudio Ranieri’s team is in the UEFA Champions League for the first time and likely will not be too concerned about exiting the League Cup.

Everton failed to transfer its strong Premier League form to the English League Cup on Tuesday, losing at home to Norwich while Liverpool and Arsenal dealt better with lower-league opposition in the third round on Tuesday.

The Portuguese coach is set to make several changes from the last XI, with the likes of Michael Carrick and Jesse Lingard expected to come into the starting line-up.

Reading won 2-1 away to Brighton & Hove Albion and Leeds United beat Blackburn Rovers 1-0 in all second-tier ties. Both teams are playing well and are direct competitors for the Premier League, but it will be interesting to see if either or both teams rotate their squads for their match on October 24.

Fabregas has been on the fringes of new manager Antonio Conte’s Chelsea side since the start of the season, having made just three league appearances from the bench.
