EFL Cup draw details
Newcastle got a bye through the first round, which was played last night and tonight, with every League One and League Two club and 22 of the 24 Championship clubs in the mix, so they enter the competition at the same stage they did past year.

Sunderland will find out who and where, their first opponents will be in the League Cup about 10 tonight.
The sides that are involved in European football do not enter until the third round, but that doesn’t stop a host of star names entering the competition.
Any team drawing Liverpool away would have the game switched to their own ground due to works taking place at Anfield and a suitable compensation agreement with the Premier League club will be made.
The EFL spokesman added: ‘Compensation will be paid by Liverpool to the opposing club should they be drawn at home, to be determined by the EFL board’. The draw takes place at around 10pm.
The Round Two draw of this season’s EFL Cup will take place on Wednesday 10 August, 2016 on Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports News HQ, with Palace hoping for a favourable tie for their opening game in the competition.
Rovers will be joined by Premier League sides not competing in Europe this season.
