Moscow said the ban is necessary because of concerns about security at Egypt’s airports.
He added that his ministry is in contact with its Russian counterpart to try to learn the reasons for the ban.
The ban came two weeks after a Russian flight was downed in the Sinai killing all 224 passengers and crew on board and a week after Russia suspended all flights to Egypt.
Russia’s ambassador to Cairo, Sergei Kirpichenko, told a local television channel there that cancellations of EgyptAir flights to Russian Federation were “temporary security measures“.
Based on preliminary examination of the wreckage and data retrieved from the plane’s recorders, the engines aren’t suspected of causing the crash, according to people familiar with the matter.
Egypt’s foreign minister said Egypt “accepted the application” of American investigators “associated with manufacturers” of the engine of the Airbus A321 plane that crashed in the Sinai desert on October 31, to become part of the investigation team, the CNN reported on Tuesday.
The committee said it “strongly recommends” that Kazakh air companies should not make flights to Egypt before the first results of the probe into the Russian air disaster have been published.
“If this trend continues, we will lose our main source of income”, said Gresha, whose firm is dealing with tourists coming from Britain and Russian Federation.

USA and British officials have mentioned intelligence reports suggesting that the plane was brought down by a bomb on board just after it took off from Egypt’s Sharm al-Sheikh en route to St. Petersburg.
