Egypt: No Evidence of MetroJet Terrorism

The plane came down en route to Russian Federation from the resort of Sharm el-Sheikh in the Sinai peninsula.

Egypt has made efforts to prevent people from jumping to conclusions about foul play in the plane crash ever since speculation began, even as countries like Russian Federation and the USA expressed confidence it was a terrorist attack. Though he stated the investigation is just not still complete. Russian Federation and Western governments have maintained that the downing of the Metrojet Flight 9268 was a terrorist act.

Nonetheless he said, that although we concluded yesterday the preliminary report on the disaster the investigations are ongoing.

Monday’s announcement by Egypt contradicts prior preliminary inquiries into the crash. Was the crash the direct result of a terrorist attack, or was it a human/technical failure?

The Egyptian statement added that a copy of the report has been sent to global experts officially taking part in the probe, including experts from Russia, Ireland and France, as well as the worldwide Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).

All concerned parties, including insurance company officials and the Russian investigations team, were allowed to examine the wreckage at the site, according to the statement. The Egyptian air force will assist in moving the wreckage to Cairo for further scrutiny.
