Egypt pulls out all stops for el-Sissi’s UN visit

Clinton’s meeting with Poroshenko, in the eyes of her aides, attempted to highlight the differences between the Democratic and Republican nominee on policy toward Moscow.

They discussed at length “relations between the European Union and Egypt and the Egyptian President expressed his great satisfaction for the role that the Republic of Cyprus plays on the relations between Cairo and Brussels, as a country which fully comprehends the particularities of the region and the interests of the countries within it”. Al-Sisi is expected to participate in this meeting and give a speech.

It said that during the meeting Clinton and Poroshenko addressed Russian incursions into Ukrainian territory.

During the meeting, Trump expressed his recognition of Egypt’s close relationship with Israel on countering terrorism, the campaign said.
