Today Muslims around the world are celebrating the festival of the sacrifice, Eid al-Adha, one of the most important festivals in the Muslim calendar.

Muslims slaughter animals as to remember Abraham’s story who was, once, about to sacrifice his son to prove his belief in Allah.
As part of the sacred festival, Muslim devotees symbolically sacrifice lambs, goats, rams or other animals.
In northwest Edmonton, an estimated 10,000-15,000 people attended the prayers and barbecue at the Al-Rashid Mosque to mark the occasion. Millions of Dhaka dwellers flocked to village homes to celebrate Eid al-Adha. Worshipers then greet friends with the traditional Arabic salutation of Eid Mubarak (“Have a blessed Eid”) and exchange gifts.
“Eid Al Adha is a time of peace, which Afghans richly deserve”, said Mr. Yamamoto, in a news release issued yesterday by the Mission.
The holiday continues for the next four days, and falls every year during the Muslim month of Dhu al-Hijjah, when Muslims perform the hajj pilgrimage to Mecca.
MUSLIMS in Cebu will offer prayers for peace and unity as they celebrate Eid’l Adha Monday, September 12.
The day is celebrated to commemorate Prophet Abraham’s devotion to Allah.
The Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson said: “I wish all Muslims in the United Kingdom and across the world a happy Eid as they gather with their families to celebrate, and congratulate all those participating in the Hajj pilgrimage”. May you be showered with enormous love and blessing from Allah who is the saviour of the mankind.

“They had an eight-year-old son and his face just lit up and it gave me so much happiness to see a child so happy to see food and clothes”. Whether you are Muslim or not, a happy Eid from my family to yours.
