Eight people are reported to have been killed in Texas in new tornadoes, raising the death toll to 26 in a week of storms in several U.S states.

Officials believe four of the deaths were related to vehicles struck by a tornado in the southeast part of Garland, police spokesman Officer Joe Harn said.
The storms caused damage to over 100 homes, mobile homes, and businesses, said the MEMA.
The severe weather snarled air traffic in the Dallas area.
USA post-holiday travelers can expect a mix of stormy weather this weekend, with blizzard conditions in New Mexico and western Texas, while flooding rain hits the southern plains from south Texas through in, forecasters said on Saturday.
In north Texas, meanwhile, residents hunkered down for what the National Weather Service was calling a “historic blizzard”.
“I never thought that I would live through something like this”.
The tornado’s trajectory was headed toward downtown Dallas but WFAA television said that it appeared to have lifted off the ground at it moved north.
“Heavy snowfall amounts of 10 to 18 inches are forecast through Sunday evening across much of western/northwestern Texas, with 18 to 24 inches forecast across portions of New Mexico”.
Flash flooding closed roads across Alabama and trapped motorists in rapidly rising waters. A 22-year-old man who was also in the auto was still missing.
At least five people were reported dead in the cars. CNN affiliate WFSA said dozens of roads in the county have been shut down.
The family’s auto was overcome with flood water and ended up in a ditch near Tyler’s Pinson home.
In Mississippi, 10 people were confirmed dead and some 60 others injured on Saturday, the state emergency management agency said on Twitter.
The twisters hit a part of the state that’s no stranger to damaging tornadoes, but some residents were stunned by the scope of devastation left behind.
There were no immediate reports of damage, but National Weather Service Meteorologist Anthony Bain in Fort Worth says that the tornado was confirmed by numerous people on the ground and with video.
More than 400 homes in total were affected, he said.
The flooding was the result of heavy downpours that have thrashed the Southeastern U.S. since Wednesday, bringing record rainfalls in some areas.
Six deaths were confirmed in Tennessee, including three people found dead in a vehicle submerged in a creek on Thursday, according to the fire department in Columbia, Tennessee.

James Brown of the Coffee County Emergency Management Agency says volunteers distributed sandbags in Elba, where the Pea River was projected to crest Saturday at 43 feet, about a foot below the levees that protect the area. Washington, D.C., could see a record daily temperature of 73 degrees, New York City 65 -which would break a record of more than 50 years -and Orlando, Florida could tie a record of 86 degrees set in 1921.
