The Anadolu Agency said the group arrived in Istanbul from Morocco by plane, and were stopped by police at Ataturk Airport.

On Wednesday, the Associated Press reported that officials in Turkey announced that they detained eight ISIS terrorists that were headed to Germany posing as “refugees”.

According to official data released to AFP last week, in the first half of 2015 over 700 foreign suspected jihadists were detained and deported from Turkey whereas for all of 2014 the figure was 520.

Most recently, 41 Moroccans were denied entry to Turkey on November 9 and deported the same day after being flagged “terror suspects”. Authorities were also unable to confirm whether the individuals were attempting to enter Europe by disguising themselves as refugees.

Turkey has faced its own jihadi terror as of late. Around 300 have been formally charged. Throughout their interrogation at the Ataturk Airport, the suspects’ hotel bookings have been discovered to be pretend, while one guy was carrying a crudely drawn migration route from Istanbul to Germany by way of Greece, Serbia, Hungary & Austria, the report stated.

The group of eight were arrested, and officials believe they’re linked to terror group ISIS.

Their detainment comes following multiple attacks across Paris on Friday night in which 129 people died.
