El Chapo raid video released by Mexican authorities
Undated Rolling Stone handout shows actor Sean Penn with Mexican drug lord Joaquin “Chapo” Guzman in Mexico. Video shows officials in military fatigues opening fire with high-powered guns and using smoke gas while raiding a home in Los Mochis on Friday.

Guzman was arrested following his latest escape after Mexican marines tracked him to a house in Los Mochis, Sinaloa last Friday.
Mexican authorities are so anxious about a possible third escape attempt by Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman that they have beefed up security in his prison cell.
A few weeks before she would attract world-wide attention for reportedly arranging Sean Penn’s recent interview with drug cartel leader Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, Mexican actress Kate del Castillo told the host of a lifestyle TV show in Mexico that she wanted to be involved in a more stable business than acting.
In January 2012, the Mexican film and television star Kate del Castillo began a correspondence with El Chapo and the two developed a mutual trust of one another.
CBS This Morning co-anchor Charlie Rose said today that he will interview actor Sean Penn, but not for another movie. The head of the Sinaloa drug cartel also wanted to trademark his name with the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property and sell hats and toys emblazoned with his moniker, according to media reports Tuesday.
While Mexican authorities had spent decades chasing Guzman, the chase following his July escape from a top-security prison was different for two reasons, said a former government intelligence official who spoke on condition of anonymity because he wasn’t authorized to discuss the case. Mr. Penn’s excursion, linked to Ms. Del Castillo’s intention of producing a biopic about the notorious drug purveyor, is best understood as Hollywood business at the extreme.
Since then, the Mexican authorities have increased security around him reinforcing floors with a web of steel rods coated with cement, installed electronic locks and added more security cameras to monitor his movements.
The drug boss is being held in isolation and his door guarded 24 hours a day at the Altiplano prison, about an hour from Mexico City. “The attorney General’s Office is investigating this event and others involving contacts that Joaquin Guzman had while he was on the run”.
Federal police eventually found them on a highway outside of town and Guzman’s flight ended six months after his stunning escape from the same maximum security prison where he now sits.
The question of journalistic privilege has been a hotly debated topic in the United States, with federal courts disagreeing on how much reporters are protected.
Del Castillo has not publicly commented on the meeting.
Guzman told Penn in an interview published on Saturday by Rolling Stone magazine that he felt neither remorse nor responsibility for smuggling billions of dollars worth of drugs into the United States.
