El Shaarawy stunner on debut as Roma edge Frosinone
The 23-year-old, who joined on loan from AC Milan this week, acrobatically back-heeled fellow new signing Ervin Zukanovic’s cross into the net early in the second half after Frosinone striker Daniel Ciofani had cancelled out midfielder Radja Nainggolan’s first-half opener.

That record extends to a staggering one win in their last nine games when including the pre-Spalletti efforts, making Roma the most out-of-form side in Italy right now other than beleaguered Verona.
Stephan El Shaarawy scored on his Roma debut as he attempts to get faltering his career back on track.
The victory means Roma close the gap between them and fourth place for now in the Serie A table to just three points, but Pjanic says they need more continuity in their results to get anywhere near the top.
Frosinone were second from bottom, seven points off safety. “We did well all round, we moved the ball well and we haven’t been doing that of late”.
Ciofani leveled five minutes later, bringing down the ball wonderfully to volley in between the legs of Roma goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny.
El Shaarawy restored Roma’s lead three minutes after the restart when he somehow twisted his body to flick Zukanovic’s short cross from the left to beat Leali from 12 yards.
“It’s really satisfying and I am so happy to start well with a victory for the team”, the Little Pharaoh told Sky Sport Italia. The feeling of scoring that goal and being hugged by my teammates was unforgettable.

Frosinone coach Roberto Stellone admitted to Mediaset: “We had a great first half, but that backheeler killed us off. We got back into it, then Pjanic’s goal ended all our hopes”.
