‘Elderly’ Clinton, Trump should share more about their health, Carson says

An AP report Tuesday found more than half of the non-government officials who met with Hillary Clinton while she was secretary of state gave money to the Clinton Foundation.

Former President Bill Clinton, left, says hello to Megan Bartlett, of Decatur, Ga., and her 3-month-old daughter Hannah Rice, as he works the crowd at historic Manuel’s Tavern, Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2016, during a stop in Atlanta.

Pushing back, Clinton said of the AP report, “I know there’s a lot of smoke and there’s no fire”.

Some reports are raising that very question and claiming Hillary was running a “Pay to Play” scheme through the Clinton Foundation when she was Secretary of State.

At least 85 of 154 people from private interests who met or had phone conversations scheduled with Clinton while she led the State Department donated to her family charity or pledged commitments to its global programs, according to a review of State Department calendars released so far to The Associated Press. At least 40 donated more than $100,000 each, and 20 gave more than $1 million, according to the Associated Press.

Trump, the real estate mogul and former Atlantic City casino magnate, and Clinton, the former first lady and US secretary of state, have not shared medical information since a year ago, and compared to prior candidates, the disclosures have revealed scant information, according to The New York Times.

“You know more about the foundation than you know about anything concerning Donald Trump’s wealth, his business, his tax returns”, Clinton said.

Although the quid pro quo charges are not clearly established, integrity monitors are leery of the frequency with which Foundation executives tapped into Clinton’s aides at the State Department seeking support for those who contributed to or were associated with the Foundation.

Bill Clinton announced that next month’s Clinton Global Initiative meeting in NY will be the final gathering. It will only accept donations from USA citizens, legal residents and US-based independent foundations, and the 42nd president will step down from the board and stop fundraising. And I’m happy to do the transition as quickly as we can. Donna Shalala said in an NPR interview on Tuesday she’s aware that such changes-such as identifying new partners- can trickle down to those deeply dependent on the foundation’s charity.

“Hillary Clinton is a bigot who sees people of color only as votes, not as human beings worthy of a better future”, Trump said at a campaign rally here, speaking to an overwhelmingly white audience of supporters in deep-red Mississippi. He added that “meeting requests, recommendations and proposals come to the department through a variety of channels, both formal and informal”.
