Elections 2016: Watch Barack Obama Endorse Hillary Clinton For President

After almost eight years in the White House, Obama is still one of the country’s most popular politicians.

Sanders added that Trump would “be a disaster of a president of the United States”. It was all part of a carefully orchestrated pressure campaign aimed at easing Clinton rival Bernie Sanders toward the exit and turning fully to the fight against Republican Donald Trump.

Raul Grijalva, a Sanders backer from Arizona, suggested the time to rally behind Clinton would come next week when the primary season concludes with the final contest in the District of Columbia.

Obama called for unity among Democrats and vowed to be an active force on the campaign trail. And Warren’s progressive Facebook fans are not taking it well.

Clinton has previously said a plan to generate jobs by investing in transportation and other infrastructure spending and immigration reform would be among other early priorities.

Speaking to Reuters following the endorsement, Mrs Clinton said Mr Obama’s endorsement “means the world”.

Warren’s move is yet another sign the Democratic establishment – including the progressive wing, which has always been skeptical of Clinton – is falling in line now that it’s clear Clinton has the delegates necessary to be the party’s presumptive nominee. Charles E. Schumer of NY.
