Electric Oregon WR Byron Marshall (leg) feared out for the season

Fentress said his sources did not know the procedure Marshall underwent, but Marshall did suffer a lower leg injury during last Saturday’s 62-20 loss to Utah. He was seen minutes later getting on a cart and headed back to the locker room.

Oregon wide receiver Byron Marshall’s season is likely over.

Fentress did note the specifics of Marshall’s injury have not been revealed yet, making it impossible to definitively report whether or not he will return to the field before Oregon’s season ends.

On Wednesday Aaron Fentress from Comcast Sporsnet Northwest reported that it may not be a good diagnosis for Marshall. He also is the primary return specialist for the Ducks.

Teams aren’t quick to talk injuries in most cases, but as of recently Oregon is becoming more lenient with season-ending ones. In his first full season in the role, he put up a few great stats: a team-leading 74 receptions for 1,003 yards and six touchdowns.

Since Marshall has played in just four games, it is possible he could seek a medical redshirt.

Because quarterbacks Vernon Adams Jr. and Jeff Lockie haven’t clicked running the offense yet, Oregon finds itself at a crossroads entering Saturday’s game against Colorado.
