Electrolux celebrates 10 consecutive years as industry leader in sustainability

Tata Steel has been declared as the global industry leader in the steel sector by the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) assessment for the year 2016.

The world’s largest 3,400 companies from developed and emerging markets were invited by RobecoSAM to take part in its annual assessment, which looks at corporate governance, crisis management and environmental policy. The company strives to become an excellent, resilient company that can contribute to sustainable worldwide growth. The DJSI includes 24 sector-specific indices, with companies scoring in the top 10 per cent of each industry group also included in the World Group.

“With 2016 likely to be the hottest year on record, investors are again reminded that companies’ environmental and sustainability efforts are crucial to their financial outcomes”, said David Blitzer, the Managing Director and Chairman of the Index Committee at S&P DJI.

In the areas of environmental protection, ASE has invested in a state-of-the-art water recycling plant in its manufacturing facilities in Kaohsiung and Chung-Li, resulting in total water recycled/ total water withdrawn of up to 82%, a 28% increase from 2014.
