“This was not an act of terrorism”, said Brett Zimmerman, a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department deputy chief.

A portion of Las Vegas Boulevard was closed after the incident and was reopened Monday morning, the Police Department said.
The crash killed one person and injured dozens of others.
Lombardo said police did not have a definitive motive but that they believe she had a falling out with the father of her child before the crash.
The coroner said the suburban Phoenix woman was visiting Las Vegas with her husband. She may face additional charges including multiple counts of attempted murder with the use of a deadly weapon, child abuse and neglect and leaving the scene of an accident.
The incident began when police say a woman driving a 1996 Oldsmobile sedan with OR plates jumped the sidewalk and plowed into a crowd in front of the Paris Hotel & Casino.
After the accident, police say, Holland pulled into the valet parking area at the Tuscany Hotel & Casino, and told the valet to call 911 because she had hit several people. “We know this was not an act of terrorism”, he said.
The driver sped away before the vehicle was found at a hotel and she was taken into custody. She said a lot of them are adults, but an 11-year-old is among the victims and is listed in serious condition.
A government official said five Canadians were injured by a auto that crashed into pedestrians on the Las Vegas Strip.
“It was just massacring people”, he said, adding that the vehicle appeared to be going 50 and 65 km/h. After hitting the first crowd, the driver reported got back on the road, drove a bit more, and then swerved into another group of people.
Authorities say a vehicle intentionally drove on and off the sidewalk into crowds near the Planet Hollywood casino-hotel Sunday night, mowing down dozens of pedestrians.
Authorities say the woman suspected of crashing into pedestrians on a Las Vegas Strip sidewalk was stoic when she was arrested. She had a 3-year-old in the auto with her, but the child wasn’t injured.
Traffic snaked down the streets as cars were diverted near the Paris Las Vegas hotel, where the Strip was shut down. They could see police investigating about a block away from the scene of the crash. “I thought maybe we’d see someone famous”.
The driver fled the scene of the crash, but was found at an off-Strip hotel-casino near the intersection of Koval Lane and Flamingo Road. Joel Ortega said it made them remember how their neighborhood was disrupted after the December 2 mass shooting in San Bernardino, California, near their home.
Las Vegas authorities gave injury tallies ranging from 26 to 36 people, and said six who were in critical condition had been stabilized. Some were from Montreal and needed a French translator.

Cohen, the spokeswoman for UMC, said the victims’ injuries had included head injuries, cuts and broken bones. Four people were killed and more than 40 were hurt October 24.
