Elizabeth Warren just endorsed Hillary Clinton

Clinton has already begun to pivot to the general election in November, calling on Sanders supporters to rally to her side to defeat the likely Republican nominee, business mogul Donald Trump.

However, Sanders later also indicated that he would “assess” his path to victory in the wake of California’s primary which was held on Tuesday. Likewise, a Washington Post survey from May of that year found 26 percent of Clinton supporters promising to vote McCain and only 64 percent promising to vote for Obama.

Even more daunting a task this time for party establishment to bridge the Clinton and Sanders divide was the anti-establishment sentiment Sanders had stirred up among disheartened Democratic and independent voters in this chaotic primary season.

Obama’s testimonial came less than an hour after the president met privately with Sanders at the White House to discuss the future of the senator’s so-called political revolution – one that will not include him taking up residence at the White House. “And I can’t wait to get out there and campaign with Hillary”.

And while Warren’s support is less significant than Obama’s in this regard, it carries more weight than Obama’s with a small but potentially influential group of thought-leaders and ideological activists. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., and later with Vice President Joe Biden.

Warren’s endorsement also underscores the fundamental reality that Sanders isn’t really going to fight all the way to the Democratic National Convention.

Adam Stonehouse, a 38-year-old bartender and a Sanders voter, said he would ultimately pull the lever for Clinton in November.

Obama made a point of staying publicly neutral through the sometimes-bitter race, mindful that his involvement could tarnish his standing with parts of his own loyal coalition, namely young people and progressives.

That was an opening Trump couldn’t resist.

“Obama just endorsed Crooked Hillary”.
