Elizabeth Warren Picked to Speak for Prime Time Slot at Democratic Convention
Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren and U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Julian Castro each met with Hillary Clinton today at her home in Washington, according to sources familiar with the meetings.

Warren campaigned with Clinton in Cincinnati in June.
As The New York Times pointed out, Warren’s current “marquee” spot is “one that is earlier than vice presidential picks typically appear” for the objective of amping up the hype behind the big VP reveal-but others have countered that it isn’t certain anything has been set in stone regarding the convention or the identity of Clinton’s VP.
Among the people Clinton is considering as her running mate: Virginia Sen.
Clinton’s meeting happened the same day Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump named Indiana Gov. Mike Pence to be on the GOP ticket.
A liberal stalwart known for championing issues related to economic inequality, Warren is on Clinton’s short list of possible vice presidential picks, according to Democrats familiar with the process.
Clinton was joined by campaign chairman John Podesta and vice chairwoman Huma Abedin.
Clinton’s campaign confirmed late Friday that she held meetings regarding a running mate but did not publicly discuss contenders.
Clinton has been assisted by veteran Democratic lawyer James Hamilton, who has overseen her selection process, along with longtime aide Cheryl Mills, who served as her chief of staff in the State Department. Warren would also help form an unprecedented all-female presidential ticket.
Hickenlooper, 64, is a relatively new name in the process and hails from another top battleground state.

The Democratic governor declined to comment on his visit. Mr Castro, 41, is a rising star within the Democratic Party who’s likely to motivate Hispanic voters, a crucial constituency in the November election.
