Elizabeth Warren Won’t Say Whether She’ll Run for Senate in 2018

While weighing a bid for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2016, Vice President Joseph R. Biden has tapped a new communications director who was the spokeswoman for John Edwards’ presidential campaign in 2008. With the president back from vacation, Biden Monday lunched with Obama.

On Monday, all three network morning shows gushed over Vice President Joe Biden meeting with left-wing Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren over the weekend, with hosts and correspondents excited by the prospect of a Biden-Warren ticket in 2016.

The vice president is expected to make his decision in the next month, which could shake things up in a race dominated by Clinton, and to a lesser degree, Bernie Sanders.

Vice President Biden is significantly behind other 2016 presidential candidates in money and organization but can still win the White House if he enters the race within the next several weeks, Josh Alcorn, a ringleader in the effort to get Biden to run, said Sunday.

Making Biden his running mate in 2008 “was the smartest decision (Obama) ever made in politics”, Earnest said, explaining that “there’s no one in American politics today who better understands” what it takes to run for the nation’s highest office.

Although Biden has yet to make a decision, his advisers have looked at fundraising, ballot deadlines and an early primary state strategy. “I think they’re the same”, Trump said.

Republicans will need 13 Democrats in the Senate to get to 67 votes to override Obama.

The article referred to the Biden-Warren meeting as a significant indicator of the vice president’s frame of mind.

“I’ll just say that vice president is someone who has already run for president twice, he’s been on a national ticket through two election cycles now”, he said.

Democrats have repeatedly asked Warren, whose progressive message resonates with voters, to enter the race, but she has so far declined. “She is going to have to put a stake…in the heart of these e-mails”, the California Democrat said.
