Ellen DeGeneres jokes she inspired Adele’s ‘Hello’
Check out the full clip and keep your eyes peeled for one last special “appearance”. From broken records to a string of parodies, the British belter is receiving the all-star welcome back, courtesy of her hit ballad, “Hello”, and now we have the latest (and potentially the funniest) parody from Ellen DeGeneres.

It’s Adele, or rather, moments from her video, which are intercut with DeGeneres saying she’s having trouble hearing her and telling her to hurry up. The outdated wireless phone with an antenna showed the British singer’s name. The first lines of the Adele song was then played.
The hilarity of the conversation began when Ellen then said, “The connection is bad”.
“Even though she didn’t cover the song, [just] the word Hello, automatically everyone called me on the phone and said “she used Hello, ‘ and I said, ‘Well, I kind of own Hello, ‘” Richie continued. What did you say?”
She happily greets the mother-of-one on the phone, as it cuts back and forth between the dramatic Hello video and clips of Ellen casually sitting on her couch as she takes the call. Ellen answered it and said, “hello”. “Everyone said, ‘Lionel, Adele is doing your song Hello, ‘ and I said, ‘No she’s not, ‘ and all of a sudden I heard ‘Hello, ‘” Richie told DuJour at a celebration for the singer’s home decor collection on Wednesday.
She’s later interrupted by another artist, singing about how she “used to call him on his cellphone”. The phone rang once again, and this time, singer Lionel Richie was rendering his song with the same title, “Hello”.

Ever since the official music video of “Hello” was released, different parodies of the song were posted on the Internet.
