Ellen DeGeneres Reveals That She’s the Inspiration Behind Adele’s “Hello”
Cut to DeGeneres sitting on the couch when she receives a call on an even older cellphone than the flip phone Adele uses in her video: Think Zack Morris’ and Wall Street’s brick-like mobile phones.

As the British singer’s music video continues on, DeGeneres gets increasingly frustrated while pretending to have bad reception (“did you say beets?”), noisily eating a bag of chips, and getting exasperated by how slowly Adele is “talking”. – AFP picThe spoof has been viewed more than 533,000 times within a day of being uploaded. She then went on to introduce a skit, full of intercut scenes of a singing Adele and a set up of her responding on the other line. She said, “I’m sorry. So when I Instagrammed back and said, ‘Hello is it me you’re looking for?'”
DeGeneres had the audience in her show cracking up as she continued to insist that Adele’s connection was poor and she couldn’t understand what the 27-year-old singer was saying.
Apparently, Ellen is the inspo behind a number of hits as the video above shows.
Later on in the clip, the talk show host hops onto another line to chat with two other musical callers – Drake and Lionel Richie.
