Ellie Cole takes Gold after eight long days in Rio

Canadian wheelchair racer Michelle Stilwell won the 100 metres on Saturday for her second gold medal of the Rio Paralympics, and sixth of her career.

Brazil’s golden girl of athletics, Terezinha Guilhermina, ended her Rio 2016 roller coaster ride with third place in the T11 400-meter final. Russian Federation finished second in the London 2012 medal table, behind China and one place ahead of Britain.

Cyclist Carol Cooke won the time-trial gold two days ago and overnight she added another gold to her medal haul, winning the women’s T1-2 road race.

On Friday, Ruzhdi won his first Paralympic medal in the shot put, throwing 12.33m to smash his own world record and clinch the gold by nearly a meter’s margin. Lech Stoltman from Poland threw 11.39 meters to grab the bronze.
