“It’s his visa and work permit that are holding it up but we are positive it can happen this week”, Wenger told reporters at a news conference ahead of Wednesday’s Premier League clash with Liverpool.

Arsenal appear to be on the verge of their first signing of the January transfer window after it was revealed Mohamed Elneny will sign in the next 24 hours.
Wenger is thought to be close to landing Basel midfielder Mohamed Elneny, whilst the FA Cup holders have been linked with a move for Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubayameng.
The Frenchman is anticipating a lot of deals being done in the league over the next three weeks.
Outspoken Arsenal supporters Morgan says Wenger has to spend some of the reported £200m in the transfer kitty if the Gunners are to win the Premier League crown.
‘I must say you get that from everybody who comes to England at the start because you have to adapt to the English style, ‘ he said.
“If he does it again now and he doesn’t buy what I think we need in our season, should he continue as manager?”
“[Sanchez] has always asked me to play but if you listen to him he can always play even when he’s injured”.
“I’ve said it many times, Zaza and Rugani stay at Juventus”, Allegri said.
“The teams who are near the bottom like Aston Villa and who fear to go down will feel under pressure not to accept the situation. My prediction – that it could be one of the most active transfer windows in January that you have seen”.
The 23 year old Egypt global already has 39 caps to his name, and Wenger is confident that the deal will be completed this week.

“He has the qualities to integrate into a team like Bournemouth, whose game is based on movement, pace and quick football”, he said.
