Elon Musk’s ‘Revolutionary’ Space Travel Breakthrough: Rocket Lands Fully Intact

SpaceX is focusing on cheap space travel and rocket landing is one of the company’s first steps aimed at building fully reusable rockets, which will drastically reduce the cost of spaceflight.

Steelers stunned by Ravens in 20-17 loss
Webb has been with the Ravens since 2009 and went through the playoff loss before the recent run of regular-season success began. On the drive, the strong-armed quarterback was 5-for-7 for 47 yards, including a 3-for-3 effort on third down.

Nation Mourns Tamir Rice Case as a ‘Catastrophic and Pernicious Miscarriage of
Assistant Prosecutor Matthew Meyer said it was “extremely difficult” to tell the difference between the pellet gun and a real one. Patrolman Timothy Loehmann shot Tamir Rice within two seconds after confronting the child near a community centre November 2014.

The mission matches rival space firm Blue Origin’s feat of successfully returning a reusable rocket to Earth, a milestone the company achieved last month. The first stage of the rocket separated from the second stage in space and landed vertically back on Earth.

Elon Musk’s SpaceX has its momentum back.

This graphic provided by SpaceX illustrates the landing sequence of the first stage of its Falcon 9 rocket.

“Everything appears to have been flawless”, SpaceX founder Elon Musk said during a press call after the launch and landing.

The Falcon-9 11 communications satellites were despatched by rocket booster before returning to an erect position at Cape Canaveral.

SpaceX previously experimented, unsuccessfully, with landing its rockets on a platform in the ocean. Previous attempts by SpaceX to land Falcon 9 boosters had failed.

The rocket’s main stage then turned around, fired a series of engine burns, deployed landing legs, and settled itself onto a newly refurbished landing pad occupying a decommissioned missile site about 10 kilometres from the launch pad. Bezos’ rockets are still in the testing stage, years from being available for commercial or government space activity, while SpaceX has been carrying payloads into orbit for more than six years. “No one has ever brought a booster, an orbital-class booster, back intact”.

In the meantime ORBCOMM, the company to whom all the eleven satellites belonged has said that all its satellites were put in their respective orbit.
