Tesla Motors founder and chief executive Elon Musk in a tweet on Thursday said the company has added more countries to the pre-order page for Tesla Model 3, which includes India, Brazil, South Africa, South Korea, Singapore, New Zealand, and Ireland.

The company’s first mass-market electric vehicle was driven onto a foggy stage in an extravagant unveiling, where Musk revealed that the Tesla Model 3 will seat five, and be able to cover at least 215 miles on one charge. Yet, the company’s CEO insists that the fundamental mission has always been to devise electrically functioning cars for the masses – so here we are with the $35,000 Model 3. Musk says the base model version will be able to go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in under 6 seconds.
Musk also committed to Tesla doubling its number of public charging stations from 3,600 to 7,200. The four-door vehicles have no grille and also feature a roof that is a panoramic pane of glass from front to back.
In terms of Design, the Model 3 looks like a combination of the Model S sedan and the Model X SUV with angular headlamps and taillamps. The Model 3 will commence shipping by the end of 2017. You can get your hands on Model 3 for a mere $35,000.
In the first 24 hours, Tesla sold 115,000 cars to eager customers. The success of Tesla’s Gigafactory, its battery factory near completion in Nevada, is also contingent on the Model 3.
“More cargo capacity than any gasoline vehicle of the same external dimensions”, Musk said.
If this enthusiasm of those waiting in line to reserve a Model 3 is any indication, a high percentage of those putting down a deposit will follow through and actually order the new Tesla.
The vehicle will likely only arrive in South Africa in 2018, but head over to the Tesla site if you have a few spare coins lying around for a pre-order.

For comparison, the biggest direct competitor for the Model 3 is the Chevy Bolt. Tesla plans to more than double the size of its dealership and service network by the end of next year, to sell and take care of all these new cars.
