Elon students surprise campus coffee shop employee with trip to Disney World
Elon students Taylor Zisholtz and Lucy Smit-Williams, who found out about the lady’s dream during a conversation with her, gathered a few friends and chose to start a GoFundMe campaign that successfully collected $6,500 in just three days and the amount keeps growing. We’re sure Kathryn and her family will create a lifetime of memories at Disney World, but they won’t soon forget Taylor and Lucy’s extreme show of kindness. “But it’s always been a dream of mine”, she added.

The North Carolina woman works hard at the school’s Acorn Coffee Shop, sometimes staying until 2 a.m., Elon Local News reports.
Once the money had been raised, Zisholtz, Smith-Williams and fellow students presented Thompson with the surprise trip while dressed in Mickey Mouse shirts and carrying balloons. “It’s five nights every week that you can count on her generous helping of down-to-earth sincerity and open friendliness served up with every plate she delivers”.
“I’m excited just to be going”, Kathryn told the Elon Pendulum.
As a thank you for the work that Kathryn does, Lucy and Taylor made a decision to surprise Kathryn with her lifelong wish of going to Disney World. She has, in the words of student Taylor Zisholtz, a “warmth” to her that is contagious. “And the volume of would you conclude that it’d expense for my family to make my wife and kids of 5 to Disney World?” She said can’t wait to see her grandson’s eyes when she tells him the news.

Kathryn still has to pick a date for the trip, but she plans to go with her son, daughter-in-law, and grandson.
