Blunt also explained that the “Dallas Buyers Club” actor seemed really into the ceremony, nodding his head as he watched on.

Though the actress stopped by to discuss her new film “Sicario” – which is screening at the Toronto Film Festival – Kimmel instead grilled longtime friend Blunt on her process to be granted US citizenship. “And we were like, ‘It’s a pool party, that’s odd that you wouldn’t bring some trunks.’ The pool was so cold that as he was getting out, he said: ‘Nobody look man, ‘ and we were trying not to”.

Blunt also told Kimmel that she was required to renounce Queen Elizabeth II and, of course, take a written citizenship test.

“Oh we do, very much”, Blunt said. “Because we’re better than you, but now I’m only half better”.

John Krasinski may have just become our hero.

And the surreal day got even stranger when Blunt realised she was being sworn in as a USA citizen alongside Matthew MCConaughey’s Brazilian-born wife, Camila Alves. “I guarantee most Americans would have no idea on how to answer any of these questions”. “‘Have I ever been a prostitute?’ was another question”. Check out the full video of her on Kimmel below. Kimmel challenged her to an alternative quiz, asking her, among other questions, to identify what DQ stood for.

“Well we certainly want to change that”, said Barry Westrum, executive vice president of Marketing for American Dairy Queen Corporation (ADQ).
