Emily Thornberry ‘disgusted’ at Labour bid to end Corbyn leadership
The “Traingate” controversy where Corbyn said he was forced to sit of the floor of a Virgin train because it was “ram-packed”, which was later disproved, has had little impact on the Labour leader with only 5% of respondents saying that it changed their view of him.

Party deputy leader Alex Rowley has since said he would not oppose a second vote.
Launching a “digital democracy manifesto” as part of his battle to retain the party leadership, Mr Corbyn pledged a “bill of rights” for internet users who would be entitled to a “digital citizen passport” which would provide a secure and portable identity for their online and data activities.
The results also show the depth of the divisions between different segments of the Labour Party.
However, look beyond YouGov’s headline figures and you will find some really interesting data about how the people who plan to back Corbyn truly feel about his qualities.
Other plans due to be set out include handing increased powers to the Equality and Human Rights Commission to penalise companies that do not publish detailed gender pay data and a wide-ranging consultation on how to strengthen existing sexual harassment legislation.
Speaking in Shoreditch, Mr Corbyn also argued his leadership campaign’s use of new technology would be a model for a future general election campaign and represented the party’s “path to victory” in 2020.
Jeremy Corbyn, the left-wing head of Britain’s opposition Labour party, is set to win a leadership race with even more support than when he was first elected past year, according to a YouGov poll in The Times on Wednesday.
A massive 62 per cent of those eligible to vote in the contest are backing the incumbent, with just 38 per cent set to cast ballots for challenger Owen Smith, according to a YouGov poll for The Times. Nearly 70% said it had no effect on their thinking.
The Scottish Conservatives said the issue was further evidence of “a Labour party in complete chaos”.
“As we know, the SDP didn’t “break the mould” of British politics as it claimed, and within a few years merged with the Liberals”.

She added: “In short, some people have done their level best to deny the party’s full membership a fair and equal vote in this contest, or even the chance to make their voices heard”. Virtually all those who defected lost their seats, mostly in the 1983 general election, and never returned to the Commons.
