Freema Agyeman has popped up here and there on TV since she played companion Martha Jones in both Doctor Who and its spin-off Torchwood, and is trying to launch a career in the US. The BBC also declined to comment on whether Coleman was leaving the series. And earlier this week, Coleman hinted that she was preparing for her exit in Season 9.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock since Series 7B of our favorite show, you’ll know that Clara and the Eleventh Doctor (Matt Smith) were secretly in love.
Whether or not she stays is something only time can tell, as it always does.
She added: “I’d ask Jenna for tips about the show”.

But before fans start on season nine, they have a prologue to catch.
Doctor Who returns with a two-parter, “The Magician’s Apprentice” and “The Witch’s Familiar“, September 19th, 2015 at 9/8c on BBC America.
“Frankly, I didn’t want to lose her. She’s an amazing actress, and she never stops working to make Clara better”.
Watch a trailer for Doctor Who Season 9. And the show has not hesitated to kill off companions in the past.
