So his team went and recovered a bunch of bricks and wood from the site to commemorate his childhood home.

Eminem has reissued his seminal sophomore album, The Marshall Mathers LP, as a limited edition cassette in celebration of its 16th anniversary. Before all you Stans start writing angry letters and heading for the nearest bridge, he hasn’t sold his soul…he’s very literally selling bricks.
The Marshall Mathers LP is a pivotal album in Eminem’s catalog. Each brick is $313, representing Detroit’s area code. Each of the 700 bricks comes with a display stand and commemorative plaque, as well as a numbered certificate of authenticity featuring Eminem’s handwritten signature.
Ironically, during the same month of the release of “MMLP2” in 2013, the State of MI ordered the house at 19946 Dresden Street to be knocked down due to structural safety issues.
Prices for the memorabilia range from $28 (£19) for a dog tag made of wood from the house, to $350 (£242) for a brick, dog tag, cassette and Marshall Mathers LP T-shirt.
The collection will donate a portion of proceeds from the items’ sales to The Marshall Mathers Foundation with the mission to rebuild Detroit.

The Marshall Mathers LP is one of the most iconic albums in hip-hop, and by extension music everywhere. From this, a painstakingly detailed process was started to turn those raw materials into special, one-of-a-kind collectible items.
