Emirates Airline crash landing

Video purportedly showed a tower of flame bursting from the front of the aircraft, and then a thick black plume of smoke rising into the sky.

A video shot by an amateur from inside the plane shows how the passengers ignored warning and evacuation signs by the airplane crew and tried to reach their belongings, despite being an emergency.

Emirates said the Boeing 777 involved in the accident carried 300 passengers and crew from 20 countries, including 226 from India, 24 Britons and 11 Emiratis. According to BBC, all the passenger have been evacuated safely.

The widebody jet burst into flames as it crash landed in Dubai following a flight from Trivandrum International Airport, southern India.

“The airport gradually started resuming operations around 6.30 p.m. local time on Wednesday night”, an airline spokesperson said.

On earlier on Wednesday, one firefighter was killed while he was trying to stop from burning caused by a plane crash-landing.

Traffic was disrupted by cancellation of 237 flights after an Emirates plane crash-landed and closed down the Dubai International Airport for several hours.

Emirates said that 157 of the 282 passengers aboard Flight EK521 stayed in Dubai following the accident, while the rest remained in transit at the airport.

Sheikh Ahmed later told reporters later that 13 people on board were hospitalized, majority for minor injuries.

“23,000 Emirates passengers impacted by the disruption”. The crash was one of the most serious for Emirates, which is considered one of the safest airlines in the world.

After landing, the cabin crew opened all the emergency exits, and everyone was evacuated within minutes, the news agency said.

“In addition, Jet Airways will re-route two Dubai-bound flights to Sharjah and is awaiting slot approval from Sharjah Airport to re-route four additional flights”.
