Emirates airline flight crash-lands at Dubai airport
T.P. Seetharam, India’s ambassador to the UAE, said Indian diplomats had been dispatched to the airport and had met directly with many passengers.

A spokesperson for the Dubai media office, which represents the Emirate’s government, said the plane was flying in from India when it “crash landed”.
An explosion broke out on the aircraft when it hit the tarmac after the plane’s landing gear reportedly failed to deploy properly.
Flames and thick, black smoke billowed from the stricken Boeing 777 shortly after it came to a stop on the runway.
Video footage shared online appears to show chaotic scenes in the plane’s cabin after the landing, with passengers being urged to leave their bags.
The Dubai carrier’s first significant accident happened after the crew apparently attempted to abort the landing for a second attempt amid unconfirmed witness reports of landing gear problems.
On July 26, an Emirates Boeing 777-300 aircraft heading to the Maldives made an emergency landing in Mumbai because of a “technical fault”. “Our priority remains with the passengers and crew involved”.
Safety experts said it was too early to pinpoint a cause for the crash, but Sheikh Ahmed ruled out any security breach.
The passengers managed to escape from the flight.
All flights to and from Dubai International Airport were suspended after an Emirates flight with 282 passengers, including 24 Britons, crash-landed on the runway.
In an interview with The Indian Express, passenger Abraham Thomas, who was on his way to a wedding, said many passengers felt like they were choking as smoke filled the plane.
After the plane caught fire on landing, airline staff opened emergency exits and guided the passengers out, Mr Kochikutty said.
Little is known about the pilot, other than that he is an Emirati national and is highly experienced with 7,000 flight hours, according to Saeed.

Emirates also confirmed that everyone on-board was safe and that they were expecting a 4-hour network-wide delay.
