However, many flights were delayed due to the incident.

Dubai-based airline Emirates has confirmed that there were no fatalities on the flight from India that crash-landed at Dubai’s main airport Wednesday. “The concentration now is to recover the operation over the next few days”.

“Apologies for inconvenience. All flights to and from Dubai stand cancelled for today (August 4)”, the airliner said.

The chairman told a press conference that evacuation procedures were executed professionally and the cabin crew were the last to leave the plane. “When smoke engulfed the flight, we realised there was something amiss and we felt there was some danger”, he said. In 2013, Dubai opened a smaller second airport, Al-Maktoum International.
