The actress and UN Women goodwill ambassador addressed the United Nations in NY on Tuesday in support of the HeForShe IMPACT 10x10x10 University Parity Report, which features ten university leaders who’ve committed to fixing gender imbalances within their own institutions.

Yesterday, Watson appeared as a guest of honour at at the 71st Annual United Nations General Assembly in NY to mark UN Women releasing its first HeForShe Impact 10X10X10 University Parity Report.

At the University of Oxford, just 23 percent of tenured professors and 38 percent of senior leadership are women.

The ratio of men to women represented in university faculty and senior administrative positions, the fields of study selected by young women versus young men and the number of female students at universities compared to their equal access to academic and professional career tracks. The event will be co-hosted by three IMPACT 10x10x10 Champions: His Excellency Sauli Niinistö, President of Finland; Bob Moritz, Chairman, PricewaterhouseCoopers International Limited; and Samuel L. Stanley Jr, President of Stony Brook University. Almost two-thirds of tenured professors at the New York-based school are men, and a similar number make up its senior leadership.
