Emmy-winning comedian Amy Schumer to release memoirs

Similar books by Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Mindy Kaling and others have been reliable bestsellers.

The rumored sale of the book comes nearly two weeks after Publishers Weekly, a trade magazine, reproted that Schumer’s agent, David Kuhn, was shopping a proposal with New York publishers. Earlier the bid was speculated to fetch around $5 to $8 million. Sources tell THR that the agreement includes a $9 million advance. Schumer or her rep hasn’t commented on the rumored earnings of her book. It beats, too, the controversial US$3.5 million deal Girls star Lena Dunham was paid for her memoir Not That Kind of Girl.

After speculation on Wednesday that Amy Schumer was planning to write an autobiography for a mega buck sum, the 34-year old comic has confirmed the deal with a simple tweet.

In truth, much of Schumer’s success is linked to the fact that she has no qualms about sharing anything and everything about her private life with audiences, no matter how intimate. For the last few weeks, we’ve also heard reports about her blossoming friendship with Jennifer Lawrence. But the deal is widely believed to be worth well into seven figures.
