Lee Daniels, co-creator of Fox’s mega-hit “Empire“, is developing a new pilot for the network about three young women trying to make it in the music business.

“She told me she was going to New Jersey to meet Lee Daniels to give him the book”, Eggleston said.

The Lyon family business is on the verge of collapse in the scintillating extended teaser for Empire. “That in itself is fascinating to me”.

The second season of Empire will premiere on September 23 on Fox.

Here’s a roundup of FOX-related news from the Television Critics Association summer meeting, at which TV networks and streaming services are delving into the details on upcoming programs. Daniels says it was a way to keep star Terrence Howard in check: “I said he had ALS, because if he misbehaved… you know what I mean?”

Eggleston uses examples of why she thinks she is the inspiration behind Cookie. “I just had a conversation with Yazz [Bryshere Gray, who plays Hakeem] about saving your money, not believing your own hype”, she says.

While advertisers were enthralled with “Empire’s” reach (per Nielsen live-plus-same-day data, the show averaged a 5.1 rating in the adults 18-to-49 demographic, making it last season’s top-rated scripted broadcast series), they were even more star struck when the final currency data was released.

“It’s that world meets Good Times“, he said. The more celebrities and stars we put on the show, the more it takes away from the fact that it’s a family show.

‘We are blessed. God has blessed me to be employed and to be in front of you right now, and in a show that I enjoy going to work to. “Any jury would rule for me – $300 million is a very small price for taking my whole life and stealing it”, Eggleston said.

“I was a little nervous in the beginning because of the actors”, Daniels said. We’re hopeful we’ll be able to announce something soon.
