Empire Creator Lee Daniels Teases a Nicole Kidman Cameo
Nicole Kidman recently stripped down to lingerie for the cover of Interview magazine, and the 48-year-old actress made a few surprising comments about what it’s like to film a sex scene.

“Yeah. And also I want to protect the other actor, because he’s finding it and doing it”, Kidman responded. He recalled how John Cusack was “throwing you around the fucking room like a mop”, and how she came to set the next day bruised.
That love scene appears in The Paperboy, the 2012 drama-thriller from Lee Daniels, and features John Cusack and Kidman’s characters consummating their relationship after a pen-pal correspondence that began when Cusack’s character was in jail.
“We’re taught to bring everything-the state of being, the environment-and use it. If it’s raining, or the other actor doesn’t know his lines, everything has to be used”, she said.
The Oscar-winning actress and mother of four, who is married to country star Keith Urban, said it’s hard for her to separate her personal life from her work at times. “I don’t know whether that’s a good or bad thing”. Because that’s how you release into things and find stuff.
“If I’m not in love with you, and if I don’t want to make love to you, then I’m not interested in working with you”, Daniels explained later in the exchange.
Kidman now takes on the role of Rosalind Franklin in the United Kingdom première of Anna Ziegler’s Photograph 51.
“It’s a 95-minute play and I haven’t done that for 17 years”.

Sharing her tips for filming such awkward scenes, the actress revealed she allows male co-stars to be “rougher” than they realise so as not to hinder their performance.

Though one would think with how much experience the starlet has under her belt, nothing would terrify her! “But I would just bleed it in; it would manifest in different ways”. But whatever her role will be, expect Kidman to go toe-to-toe with Cookie Lyon (Taraji P. Henson).
