Employee falls to her death at Yellowstone National Park

She was socializing with co-workers near the trail at Grandview Point when she fell from the edge at about 3:15 a.m.

In May, a Canadian film crew was accused of leaving an established boardwalk and stepping into a fragile geothermal area where they snapped photos and took video of themselves.

She was near a trail along the canyon rim when she plunged to her death.

This event was among several activities taking place locally throughout the month to celebrate NPS’ centennial including mini golf at Hains Point, lattes at the Lincoln Memorial, and a scavenger hunt inside a few Smithsonian museums.

The park staffer’s death is the third tragedy to occur in Yellowstone National Park this year. In June, an OR man died after falling into a hot spring, and a 13 year old boy was burned by a different spring in a separate incident after he and his father fell in. In June, a 13-year-old boy was badly burned when his father, who was carrying him, slipped and fell into a hot spring.
