Emre Can key to Liverpool landing Gladbach whiz Dahoud
Liverpool will reportedly have a scout in Finland tonight to watch Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud.

Georginio Wijnaldum was signed from Newcastle for £25million instead but reports in Germany suggest Klopp remains keen on Dahoud.
The Borussia Monchengladbach star was heavily linked with a move to Liverpool during the summer transfer window, with the Merseyside giants even putting forward a €30m bid for the 20-year-old which the Bundesliga club swiftly knocked back.
According to German publication Express, a representative from Liverpool will be in the stands to watch the midfielder play for Germany’s under-21s against their Finnish counterparts.
‘His interest, though, was thwarted by Borussia Monchengladbach who refused to countenance Dahoud’s sale during a summer in which they had already lost Granit Xhaka to Arsenal.
Despite that setback though, Dahoud could in fact be available for a lower fee due to a clause in his contract, as noted by The Sun, although were he to sign a new deal with the club before the summer it would certainly complicate matters further.
The news was broken by former Times writer Tony Barrett, who has just made his debut in Joe.co.uk but seems just as reliable.

Of course, Klopp could take this opportunity to keep an eye on a number of promising German talents, with Dahoud joined by the likes of Mitchell Weiser and Levin Oztunali in Stefan Kuntz’s squad.
