Emre Can makes bullish claim after Liverpool reach Europa League final

Following Liverpool’s 3-0 semi-final win over Villarreal – and 3-1 aggregate victory – Jurgen Klopp boasted that his team’s supporters would travel en-masse to Basel, in Switzerland, for the decider.

The Basel game will be their first European final since losing to AC Milan in the Champions League in 2007.

“It was nice to watch, nice to be part of it, the whole performance from the first second, from 6.45pm when we drove through the roads it was nice”.

‘We weren’t really under much pressure in the last 15 minutes. Having overcome his injury troubles, Daniel Sturridge seems to be back to his deadly best, scoring five goals in his last seven league matches, as well as the opener in Liverpool’s 3-0 Thursday win in the Europa League.

The England worldwide makes no secret of his desire to play more regularly but has rejected suggestions he is growing unhappy at Liverpool.

Klopp discusses the success Liverpool has had in the Europa League and Daniel Sturridge being back to his highest level.

Speaking to the press with his comments reported on the club’s website, the charismatic German said: “As you can imagine, up to now I have only had a few seconds to think about the line-up for Sunday”.

“We will go there and try to do everything for this wonderful club”.

Betfred are dangling 15/2 on an away win this weekend and Quique Sanchez Flores’ side have the belief of knowing they can beat them so this is a tempting bet against a team not expected to be at full strength.

Spanish teams have dominated European competition this season – Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid will face off in the Champions League final this month – but there will be no all-Spanish final in the Europa League after Liverpool’s comeback against Villarreal. “He was celebrating last night, and I saw in his eyes he thinks he has a chance”, said Klopp. “We made a couple of mistakes that turned the tide of the game”. “We’ve caught Liverpool in their best form of the season, there’s not a lot more to say”, he said. “I think everybody enjoyed watching the game”, Lovren told his club’s website. That’s more important for me as a manager, but then, when you perform in the right moments, like we did tonight or against Dortmund or against United or Augsburg, you want to have (it) all.

“Whether you see that or not, he’s the only man whose opinions matters”.
