Encouraging signs for Seahawks RBs Thomas Rawls, CJ Prosise

Seahawks running back Christine Michael has had an “awakening”.

Fantasy impact: Michael worked with the first team in Seattle’s preseason opener and seems to be locked in as the No. 2 back, but Prosise could still find playing time this season. He also started Seattle’s playoff win over the Minnesota Vikings, carrying the ball 21 times for 70 yards.

But with the variables in play now, it’s possible that the Seahawks don’t give as heavy a workload to their lead back.

“He’s an NFL football player”, Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said after Saturday’s game.

Rawls had ankle surgery in the offseason and started training camp on the PUP list, but he returned to practice last week. “He really has made it clear to us that he’s serious about the work”. And he’s an explosive, dynamic athlete. When Thomas [Rawls] gets back out there, those guys give you a one-two punch that we’re excited about. They’ll be joined on the sidelines by J’Marcus Webb (knee), C.J. Prosise (hamstring), Zac Brooks (hammy), Kasen Williams (hammy), Kevin Smith (it’s the hammy), Deshon Foxx (stop: Hamstring Time), Kam Chancellor (groin), Jordan Hill (groin), and Sealver Siliga (calf). [Prosise] is going to come back this week. “I liked what he did”.

Michael later was cut by the Cowboys, signed by the Washington practice squad, and later released before rejoining the Seahawks as a late-season injury replacement.
